About us

Hi, we’re Dan and Ellie — just your average couple with an above-average love for campervans and adventure!
Our journey began back in January 2021, when the world had slowed down due to COVID and we were both looking for something new to pour our energy into. One of our good friends was in the middle of converting a van and asked Dan to lend a hand with some carpentry work. That simple favour quickly turned into a spark of inspiration — why don’t we build one of our own?​

With travel restrictions grounding flights, we decided to create our own freedom on four wheels. That’s when Rusty came along — our first van, bought from Ellie’s dad. True to her name, she had seen better days...
... but with a lot of love (and elbow grease), we transformed her from a tired old work van into our cosy home on wheels.​​
Rusty carried us on countless adventures — from road trips across the UK, Wales, and Scotland to ski getaways and an unforgettable two-month journey through Europe!
Since then, our passion has only grown. We’ve converted vans for family friends, and fellow travellers — and of course, built a new camper for ourselves!
Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to be the owners of Ridgeway Conversions.

Dan is an experienced carpenter who oversees all structural and building aspects of each conversion, ensuring every detail is crafted to the highest standard. Ellie brings a creative eye to the design, decoration, and upholstery, making sure each van feels like a true home on wheels.

Together, we turn dreams of van life into reality — one build at a time.
